Description

The D-Ostomy is a novel, patented, D-shaped ostomy designed to be placed near difficult anatomy (incisions, scars, drains, umbilicus, rolls, folds, second ostomies, etc.) without overlap. The barrier can be roated and the straight edge placed adjacent to any anatomical challenge. Because each client is different, our pouches come in all four cardinal directions. This allows the client to place the barrier in any orientation they require.

The D-Ostomy is most helpful when there is anatomy (bellybutton, incision, scar, rolls, folds, second ostomy, drains, etc) that make it hard for a normal appliance to land without overlap.The straight edge side of the D-ostomy can be placed next to these challenging areas, allowing the appliance to seal without involving the anatomy that may have caused issues in the past.
